A Fellini’s dream on the Hudson

Pier 45 at Christopher Street

Walking on the Hudson River Park on a Sunday afternoon can be dangerous. I am not talking about the bikes speeding in all directions or the runners zigzagging on the boardwalk. I am talking about tango: it entices you with the music and abducts you with the poetry of the dancing.

The lights of the sunset, the profile of the Manhattan skyline, and the elegant steps of the dancers created a magical atmosphere. It is like a Fellini’s dream: one week ago this place was flooded and battered by the hurricane; today it is blessed by the beauty of tango.
